A 19-year-old male from the RM of Stuartburn was recently arrested after threatening the Shevchenko School, located in Vita, via social media.
On November 29, 2019 at 7:52pm, Emerson RCMP responded to a report that a former student had posted threats of violence on social media towards the Shevchenko School located in Vita, Manitoba.
Officers immediately attended the scene and placed the school on lockdown.
Over the course of the next two hours, RCMP, with the help of Police Dog Services, followed up on several tips and located the suspect and a weapon at approximately 10pm.
RCMP report that the suspect, a 19-year-old male from the RM of Stuartburn, was arrested and is facing a number of weapons related charges as well as charges for uttering threats.
