RCMP are currently investigating a fatal collision that recently occurred at a location near Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.
On December 1, 2019, at 8:35am, Portage la Prairie RCMP were advised of a vehicle in the ditch at a location off of Highway 305, near Road 62 North.
Initial police investigation has determined that a 41-year-old woman, from Long Plain First Nation, was traveling south on Highway 305 when she left the roadway and struck the side of a driveway, causing the vehicle to become airborne.
RCMP report that the 41-year-old driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced deceased on scene. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
Police say that the exact time of the collision is unknown at this time. Portage la Prairie RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
