Russell RCMP are asking the public for any information that may help locate a suspect involved in a recent home invasion that occurred in Russell, Manitoba.
On December 22, 2019, at approximately 1:30am, Russell RCMP received a report of a home invasion at an apartment complex located in the Town of Russell, Manitoba. Officers attended the location and met with the 32-year-old female victim who required medical attention. The victim advised officers that three males had entered her apartment and violently assaulted her while she slept. The female victim was then transported to a hospital in Winnipeg.
RCMP report that one suspect was arrested close to the scene while carrying a stolen item from the apartment. 40-year-old Elroy Lee Benn from Bird Tail First Nation has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery and break and enter. Benn has been remanded in custody.
Police also later arrested and charged 30-year-old Harley Hunter Mecas from Waywayseecappo First Nation. Mecas was charged with aggravated assault, robbery and break and enter. Mecas was also remanded in custody.
RCMP report that a warrant of arrest has been issued for the third suspect, 32-year-old Christopher Leonard Benn from Waywayseecappo First Nation. Christopher Benn has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery and break and enter. He is believed to be in Winnipeg.

RCMP report that Christopher Benn has turned himself in to police and has been remanded into custody. Benn has been charged with aggravated assault, robbery and break and enter.
