A 51-year-old Nelson House man has recently died after the vehicle he was a passenger in rolled into a ditch at a location near Devils Lake, Manitoba.
On December 21, 2019, at approximately 8:20pm, Grand Rapids RCMP responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover at a location on Highway 6, approximately 10 kilometres north of Devils Lake.
Police investigation determined that an SUV, being driven by a 58-year-old female from Nelson House, was heading north when it lost control and entered the ditch and rolled. Police noted that road conditions were reported to be icy at the time of the incident.
RCMP report that the 51-year-old male passenger, also from Nelson House, was pronounced deceased on scene.
Police say that the driver and passenger of the SUV were both wearing seatbelts and alcohol is not being considered a factor in this collision. Grand Rapids RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, were involved in the investigation.
