A 52-year-old Blumenort man has recently died after the vehicle he was driving rolled into a ditch on Provincial Road 311 near New Bothwell, Manitoba.
On January 9, 2020, at approximately 4:30pm, St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP responded to a single vehicle rollover on Provincial Road 311, approximately three kilometres east of Provincial Road 216.
Initial police investigation has determined that a vehicle, being driven by a 52-year-old Blumenort man, was traveling east on PR 311 when he attempted to pass another vehicle and lost control. The vehicle rolled multiple times in the south ditch.
RCMP report that the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police say that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision. St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate this incident.
