Headingley RCMP are currently investigating a recent carjacking incident that occurred in Elie, Manitoba.
On February 19, 2020, at approximately 9am, Headingley RCMP responded to a carjacking that occurred at a location in Elie.
Police investigation determined that the adult male suspect went to a residence in Elie and told the homeowner that his vehicle had broken down and needed a boost. The homeowner agreed to drive the male suspect to the broken down vehicle. As they drove, the male suspect attacked the homeowner and forced him out of the vehicle. The suspect then stole the vehicle and headed towards Highway 1.
RCMP noted that the homeowner sustained only minor injuries in this incident.
The RCMP conducted extensive patrols of the area but were unable locate the stolen vehicle. The vehicle is described as a red 2014 Ford F150 XLT pickup truck with Manitoba licence plate number EMV 397.
The suspect is described as approximately 5’10” tall, weighs 170 lbs, has short black hair and a possible deformed lower lip. He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans at the time of the attack.
