The City of Steinbach has announced that temporary spring roadway weight restrictions will begin on March 16, 2020 at 6am, and continue until May 31, 2020 at 11:59pm or until further notice.
Spring Weight Restrictions are posted on all gravel and asphalt surfaced streets in order to avoid roadway damage during the spring thaw period. A load restriction of 65% of the normal legal axle load is posted on applicable Steinbach streets, as road conditions require.
The City’s Community Services Officer will be monitoring truck activity within Steinbach. The 65% of normal axle load rules will be applied, enforced and fines issued to violators accordingly.

Update
Due to the below freezing temperatures forecasted over the next number of days, the City is delaying Spring Weight Restrictions until Monday, March 23, 2020.
