A Haywood, Manitoba man has recently died after the pickup he was driving was struck head-on by a semi truck at an intersection located in Elm Creek.
On February 28, 2020, at approximately 6am, Carman RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of PTH 2 and 13 in Elm Creek, Manitoba.
Police investigation determined that a southbound semi truck and trailer, being driven by a 29-year-old Winnipeg man, entered the intersection and was struck by an eastbound pickup truck, being driven by a 34-year-old male from Haywood.
The 34-year-old male driver was pronounced deceased on scene.
RCMP report that the driver of the semi was arrested for criminal negligence causing death. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in this collision.
