On December 1, 2016, at approximately 7:20pm, Falcon Lake RCMP received a call stating that a hiker had not returned home as expected.
Police say that a 33-year-old Winnipeg woman, who planned to hike the Mantario Trail to Mantario Lake to camp for the night, was due back the afternoon of December 1, but she had not returned. Her car is parked at the entrance to the Mantario Trail.
RCMP report that the woman is an avid hiker and was well prepared for the elements with food and shelter.
RCMP Search and Rescue, the Office of the Fire Commissioner and Search and Rescue Manitoba are investigating.
