On December 2, 2016, at approximately 11am, 8-year-old Luisa Noyemi Alvarenga was taken from her Portage la Prairie residence by her biological mother, 43-year-old Colleen Sheryl McIvor.
Luisa is described as aboriginal, 4′ tall and weighs 60 pounds. She has black, medium-length hair and was wearing a purple winter coat, black boots and jeans.
Police say that the two are traveling in a stolen black 2012 Chevrolet Sierra pickup truck with Manitoba licence plate FPB 968. Police believe they could be at Long Plain First Nation, Manitoba.
RCMP are very concerned for Luisa’s immediate well-being. Anyone who has seen Luisa Alvarenga and her mother Colleen McIvor, or who knows of their whereabouts, please contact 911 or your local emergency number.

AMBER ALERT DEACTIVATED: Luisa Alvarenga safely located.
On December 2, 2016, shortly after 6pm, Luisa Alvarenga was safely located in Winnipeg. Police were able to safely locate both Luisa and Colleen after receiving a tip from the public. Colleen is in custody. The investigation continues.
