A 35-year-old Mitchell, Manitoba man has been charged and fined for driving his vehicle at 56 km/h above the speed limit on Highway 52 near Steinbach.
On May 8, 2020 at 6:23pm, Steinbach Traffic Services stopped a vehicle on Highway 52 for speeding. The driver, a 35-year-old male resident of Mitchell, was charged and fined $783, as he was caught driving at a rate of 136 km/h in a 80 km/h zone.
Police say that the male driver was traveling west on Highway 52 approaching Keating Road. The location was within the west side of the City of Steinbach.
RCMP report that in addition to the fine, the male driver was also served a serious offence notice for review of his licence by Manitoba Public Insurance.
