On November 27, 2016, just after 10am, Killarney RCMP responded to a firearm incident in the RM of Argyle, Manitoba.
Initial police investigation revealed three suspects had entered a convenience store and attempted to steal some liquor. The suspects were confronted by the store owner and fled in a vehicle. The store owner pursued them, at which time the suspects stopped, drew a rifle and fired several shots in the direction of the store owner. The victim was uninjured and was able to get to safety.
RCMP investigation has led to two arrests, a 19-year-old male from the RM of Argyle and a 13-year-old male from Sandy Bay First Nation. They have both been charged with Assault with a Weapon, Pointing a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm for a Dangerous Purpose, Assault and Theft Under $5000. The 19-year-old male is also charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm. The suspects remain in custody.
Police are still looking to speak with a third suspect.
