A 29-year-old Steinbach man was recently picked up by RCMP on outstanding warrants and is now facing drug and theft related charges.
On June 12, 2020 Steinbach General Investigation Section and Steinbach RCMP responded to a Blumenort residence for a 29-year-old male suspect wanted on outstanding warrants from a previous search warrant. The suspect was located outside the residence where he was apprehended without incident.
Police say that an ATV was located at the scene. It was determined that the ATV had been reported stolen from a location in Woodridge, Manitoba. Officers also seized over 6 grams of methamphetamine on the male suspect.
RCMP report that Matthew Phillip Martens of Steinbach has been charged with two counts of possession of stolen property obtained by crime and possession of methamphetamine. He was remanded into custody.
