A Dauphin, Manitoba man has been arrested and charged after he was found to be in possession of counterfeit money.
On December 19, 2016, Dauphin RCMP received a report of a counterfeit Canadian $50 bill used at a Dauphin business. Investigators viewed security video from the business and identified the suspect. Investigators also learned that a Dauphin financial institution was in possession of counterfeit $50 bills. All of the bills bore the same serial number.
Police say that on the evening of December 20, 2016, officers executed a search warrant at a home on 5th Avenue SW in Dauphin and arrested the male suspect. In the process of the arrest, officers seized the original $50 bill and a computer.
RCMP report that 39-year-old Jayson Scott Larry McDougall of Dauphin, has been charged with making counterfeit money.
