Stonewall RCMP have returned a 45-year-old inmate to Stony Mountain Institution after he recently escaped from the minimum security unit.
On October 4, 2020, at approximately 10:50pm, Stonewall RCMP were informed that an inmate, 45-year-old Aban Galin, had escaped from the minimum security unit at Stony Mountain Institution located in the RM of Rockwood, Manitoba.
Police say that officers patrolled the area and immediately began contacting Galin’s friends, family, and known associates.
RCMP report that Galin was located in Winnipeg early in the morning on October 5, 2020. He was taken into custody by Winnipeg Police Service and is now back at Stony Mountain Institution facing charges of escape and being at large.
