On December 27, 2016, at approximately 6am, St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP, along with the RM of Ritchot Fire Department, responded to a residential trailer fire on Bonneteau Avenue in Iles des Chenes, Manitoba.
Police say that upon arrival at the scene, the residential trailer was partially engulfed in flames. Once the fire was brought under control, firefighters entered the residence and located an unconscious 52-year-old woman in one of the bedrooms. All attempts were made by first responders to revive the victim but she was pronounced deceased on scene.
Investigators from the Office of the Fire Commissioner, through their preliminary investigation, have deemed the fire to be accidental. The Medical Examiner’s office has conducted their examination and the death is not considered suspicious.
