St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP have recently arrested a 37-year-old man in connection to a search warrant execution where a marijuana gro-op, along with numerous firearms were discovered.
On November 10, 2020, at approximately 11am, St-Pierre-Jolys RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on Leclaire Road, in the RM of Ritchot. Officers were assisted by the East District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST), the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST).
During the search of the residence, police located a marijuana grow operation inside the residence. RCMP were able to seize approximately 40 marijuana plants, 225 grams of dried marijuana, 18 firearms, other weapons and drug paraphernalia.
RCMP report that a 37-year-old man was arrested in this incident and is facing charges of possession of illicit cannabis, possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, cultivating more then four cannabis plants and cultivating illicit cannabis under the Cannabis Act. He is also facing criminal charges of firearms storage contrary to regulations and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The investigation into these crimes is ongoing.
