On January 6, 2017, Oakbank RCMP received a report that an armed man in Anola was uttering threats to his family and police.
Police say that a man had secured himself in his home east of Anola, Manitoba. Oakbank RCMP, along with the RCMP Emergency Response Team, staged outside his home and secured the area. On January 7, 2017, police were able to enter the home, where the 45-year-old man was found deceased.
RCMP report that the man alone inside the home at the time of this incident and that the investigation has been turned over to the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba.
