Appointments and Eligibility Criteria

Today, eligibility criteria to be immunized at a supersite or pop-up clinic have been expanded to include individuals aged 73 or older and First Nation people aged 53 or older.

Appointments are currently available at all five supersites in Winnipeg, Brandon, Selkirk, Thompson and Morden.  Some appointments also remain available at pop-up sites that are taking place this month in locations across the province.

Eligible people can book an appointment at a supersite online at manitoba.ca or protectmb.ca with an email address and health card number. Eligible individuals can also call (toll-free) 1-844-626-8222 (1-844-MAN-VACC) to book an appointment at a supersite or pop-up clinic.

The AstraZeneca/Covishield vaccine is now available through some medical clinics and pharmacies. For more information about this vaccine, including eligibility criteria and how to access it if you are eligible, visit gov.mb.ca.

Vaccine Administration

To date, 113,275 doses of vaccine have been administered, including 76,612 first doses and 36,663 second doses. This data includes vaccine administered at medical clinics and pharmacies, though there may be a slight delay in reporting from some of these locations.

This week, Focused Immunization Teams (FITs) will visit more than 70 congregate living facilities with an estimated 3,600 beds. The first dose of vaccine will be provided to all eligible and consenting residents.

Workforce

To date, 1,464 people have been hired to assist with Manitoba’s vaccination efforts including immunizers, clinic managers, clinical leads, system navigators and observers. This is in addition to 1,010 staff who have been assigned to COVID-19 immunization efforts from regional health authorities, bringing the total of new hires and existing staff to 2,474.

Vaccine Supply and Distribution

To date, a total of 179,720 doses of vaccine have been delivered to Manitoba. This includes:

  • 112,320 doses of Pfizer vaccine;
  • 49,400 doses of the Moderna vaccine; and
  • 18,000 doses of the AstraZeneca/Covishield vaccine.

This week, the province expects to receive 14,040 doses of Pfizer vaccine.

Additional Information
