St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP, in coordination with Major Crime Services (MCS) and Forensic Identification Services (FIS), are currently investigating a double homicide that occurred at a residence located in the Rural Municipality of Tache.
On Thursday, March 25, 2021, at approximately 1:15am, officers with the St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP Detachment responded to a disturbance call at a residence located on River Road in the RM of Tache.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers located a male and a female within the residence. Both were pronounced deceased on scene.
Police say that while officers were at the residence, a report was received of a suspicious male. Officers immediately conducted a patrol of the area and located an adult male. The male suspect was arrested and remains in custody.
RCMP report that while there is no concern for public safety at this time, officers are conducting door-to-door neighbourhood checks to gather information and ensure the wellbeing of residents.
