Steinbach RCMP are reporting that two male suspects have been arrested and charged in connection to a recent break and enter at a Manitoba Hydro compound.
On May 27, 2021 at approximately 5am, Steinbach RCMP were alerted of a break and enter in progress at a local Hydro compound.
Steinbach RCMP, along with the General Investigative Section (GIS), responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers detected a male suspect fleeing from a vehicle which had been hung-up on several rocks. Approximately two and a half hours later, with the assistance of Police Dog Services, a 44-year-old male resident of La Broquerie was arrested.
Police say that the male suspect was extremely cold and wet, and was taken to a local hospital to be treated for hypothermia.
Based on surveillance video, officers continued to search for a second male suspect. Approximately seven hours after the initial call, the suspect was located.
RCMP report that Terrence Broesky of Zhoda, has been charged with break and enter, mischief and possessing break and enter tools. He has been remanded in custody. The other male suspect will be facing charges of break and enter and mischief.
