RCMP are currently investigating an incident involving the recent discovery of human remains at a location near Oakbank, Manitoba.
On May 31, 2021, at approximately 11:20am, Oakbank RCMP responded to a report of found human remains at a location approximately one kilometre east of Oakbank, near the rail line.
With the assistance of the Springfield Police Service, CP Police, RCMP Forensic Identification Services, RCMP Search and Rescue and an anthropology team, investigators spent the afternoon and evening conducting an exhaustive search of the area.
RCMP report that the identity of the remains is unknown at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
