Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a 43-year-old Gardenton man was airlifted to a Winnipeg hospital after the motorcycle he was riding collided with an SUV on Brandt Street in Steinbach.
On August 13, 2021 at approximately 1:45pm, Steinbach RCMP were dispatched to a collision between a motor vehicle and a motorcycle that occurred at the intersection of Brandt Street and Friesen Avenue in Steinbach.
Investigation determined that the driver of a Saturn SUV, a 37-year-old Ste. Anne man, was traveling south on Brandt when he observed a motorcycle traveling north. The motorcycle, driven by a 43-year-old Gardenton man, then lost control and swerved into the opposite lane, colliding with the SUV as a result.
RCMP report that the SUV driver was not injured, however, the motorcycle driver sustained injuries and was airlifted to Winnipeg hospital where he was later reported to be in stable condition with non life threatening injuries.
Police noted that another vehicle, ahead of the SUV, was believed to have been involved in the collision at the time, but later determined that it was not.
