The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce Board and Staff have announced that they will be moving into the hiring phase for the newly created position of Economic Development Management Consultant in Steinbach.

The Economic Development Management Consultant will focus on identifying development opportunities and work to spearhead economic activity for Steinbach. This individual will take a lead role in initiatives that attract investment and business opportunities to the city of Steinbach, with a focus on promoting the community and developing sustainable jobs matched to local employment needs and opportunities.

The Economic Development Management Consultant is being hired as part of a five-year pilot program developed in a public/private partnership between the City of Steinbach, Steinbach Chamber, and a stakeholder group comprised of 26 private business owners. A governing committee has been formed, with representation from the private stakeholder group and Chamber to oversee the development, function, progress and success of the project.
