The Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) has concluded its investigation into a motor vehicle collision near Winnipegosis occurring on May 21, 2021 that resulted in a female sustaining a serious injury.
The civilian director of the IIU has determined there are reasonable grounds to believe a provincial offence occurred under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
As a result of the investigation, an officer has been issued a Provincial Offence Act ticket for proceeding before safe to do so, contrary to s.131(4) of the HTA.
The IIU issued a statement on May 26, 2021, advising that it had launched an investigation into the incident.
