A 58-year-old Edwin, Manitoba man has recently died as the result of an accident believed to have been caused by contact with a hydro line at a location in the Rural Municipality of Norfolk Treherne.
On February 28, 2022, at approximately 3 :10pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a call of an injured male on the side of the road at a location on Highway 245, in the RM of Norfolk Treherne.
Initial police investigation has determined that the male was loading an excavator onto a trailer, when the boom came into contact with a hydro line. It is believed that this contact resulted in the male receiving an electrical shock.
Emergency Medical Services responded and the 58-year-old male from Edwin, Manitoba, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
RCMP report that Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health was notified of the incident.
