Steinbach RCMP are reporting that they have arrested and charged an individual in connection to a motorcycle that had been reported stolen by the Winnipeg Police Service.
On August 27, 2022 at approximately 4am, Steinbach RCMP were patrolling in Mitchell, Manitoba as a result of a report of a suspicious person.
Police say that while in Mitchell, officers noticed a person driving a motorcycle and proceeded to conduct a traffic stop. The suspect then fled the scene on foot and foot pursuit by RCMP ensued resulting in the suspect being apprehended a short distance later.
RCMP report that Dustin Shelton was arrested and will be facing charges of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, driving while prohibited, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
