Gimli RCMP are reporting that a 28-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection to a recent arson incident that occurred at a residence located in Okno, Manitoba.
On January 20, 2023, Gimli RCMP responded to a report of a residential fire at a property located on Lilac Drive in Okno. Upon arrival, officers observed extensive damage to the property as the fire department continued to extinguish the blaze.
With the assistance of the local fire department, the cause of the fire was determined to be arson. Subsequently, investigation led to the arrest of the property owner on February 8.
RCMP report that 28-year-old Stacy Irvine has been charged with arson for fraudulent purpose and fraud over $5,000. Irvine was remanded into custody for a future court appearance.
Police noted that no injuries were reported as the result of the fire.
