The Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) is investigating allegations of domestic assault by an off-duty Brandon Police Service (BPS) officer in Brandon.
On April 2, 2023, BPS notified the IIU of the incident. According to the notification, BPS was advised of an allegation of domestic assault that occurred on April 2.
Although there were no serious injuries, the IIU civilian director has determined it is in the public interest for the IIU to investigate.
