Niverville native and professional race car driver, David Richert, is set for his debut in a Formula 2 car at this weekend’s BOSS GP event at Monza in Italy.
Richert is joining the MM International Motorsport team to contest Round 6 of the championship and it will mark the first time he is back in a race car since last October, 2022.
“It’s going to be a big challenge jumping into such a quick car and trying to be competitive with more experienced drivers already partway through the season, but I’m comfortable that I’ve done as much prep work as possible and am really looking forward to this experience,” said Richert.
A Formula 2 car is one of the quickest race cars on the planet and features a top speed of 330 km/h, acceleration from 0-100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, and corner forces reaching 3.5G.
The weekend schedule will begin off the race circuit on Thursday with Richert meeting his team for the first time and the important task of making his custom fitted race seat. On track action will kick off on Friday with Free Practice 1 starting at 9am.
