The Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) has concluded its investigation into a motor vehicle collision involving an RCMP member and two civilian vehicles.
IIU says that the collision took place at the intersection of Sasktachewan Avenue and Elm Street in Portage la Prairie on June 30 and was reported to the IIU that same day. The civilian director of the IIU determined it was in the public interest to assume conduct of the investigation from the RCMP.
As a result of the investigation, RCMP Const. Rawanjot Pandher has been charged with failure to drive with due regard to safety contrary to Sec. 106(4) of the Highway Traffic Act.
