As the result of a recent traffic stop in Selkirk, a quantity of cash, drugs and weapons were seized from the vehicle which subsequently led to the arrest of the two occupants.

Selkirk RCMP recently conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Main Street, in Selkirk. While the officer was speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, he noticed a knife inside the vehicle. As a result, both the driver and passenger were arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Police say that a search of the vehicle and of the male occupants was conducted. The search resulted in the seizure of over $4,500 in cash, prescription medication, other suspected drugs and weapons.

RCMP report that the driver and passenger, ages 54 and 34, both from Selkirk, are now facing a number of charges. The two individuals were released from custody with an upcoming court date.
