On Thursday, June 1, 2017, Niverville native David Richert is set to debut the Slingshot Racing Cup at Gimli Motorsport Park.
Last year at this time, David Richert was fortunate enough to become just the 4th Canadian to finish a race through the streets of Monte Carlo at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix weekend.
This year, Richert is set for a new challenge as, together with S.A.R. Sport and Recreation in Steinbach, he will debut the world’s first ever Slingshot Racing Cup and it will take place right here in Manitoba. Richert will also be participating as a driver in all on-track race events.
“I’m extremely excited to be part of this ground-breaking championship and play a part in growing it from the bottom up,” says Richert. “The initial response has been fantastic and everyone is looking forward to racing around the circuit in a Slingshot.”
The racing action is set to begin this Thursday, June 1, at Gimli Motorsport Park with the green flag dropping at 3pm for Race 1.
Polaris, creators of the unique 3-wheeled Slingshot, are extremely excited to see the championships debut in Manitoba.
