On June 8, 2017, just after 9:30pm, St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP received a report that a hog barn was on fire on Provincial Road 31N, approximately one kilometre east of Highway 59 in the RM of Hanover, Manitoba.
RCMP report that there were no injuries to people as a result of this incident. It is estimated that there were approximately 4,000 hogs in the barn that perished in the fire.
The Office of the Fire Commissioner is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
