Three male suspects have recently been arrested and charged after RCMP discovered cash and drug-related paraphernalia as part of an investigation in Tataskweyak Cree Nation.
Thompson Rural RCMP recently responded to a report of suspicious persons in a vacant home. Information obtained indicated that the suspicious persons were possibly armed.
Officers attended the scene and surrounded two nearby properties, one vacant and the other habited. Members then instructed those who may be inside to exit the homes immediately. A 32-year-old male, from Tataskweyak Cree Nation, complied with commands and was arrested without incident.
Police believe that there were additional suspects still inside the habited property, and subsequently entered the home with consent. Officers were then able to locate two male suspects within a locked room, and arrested them without incident. Officers noted that a large amount of cash and drug-related paraphernalia was discovered within the room.
A search warrant was drafted and executed which led to the seizure of approximately $25,000 in cash, a large knife, baton and other drug-related paraphernalia.
