Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a 37-year-old man from the community has recently been arrested and charged in connection to an assault incident that occurred at a local residence.
On November 21, 2024 at approximately 8:42pm, Steinbach RCMP received report of a male yielding a knife and assaulting a woman at a residence located in Steinbach. Police responded to the residence but were advised that the suspect had fled.
Members soon after learned that the suspect was known to them due to previous incidents as well as outstanding arrest warrants.
On November 22, at approximately 3:47am, police received another report stating that the suspect was back at the residence. Officers immediately responded and were able to subdue the suspect with the use of a taser.
RCMP report that 37-year-old Christopher Michael Gladu, from Steinbach, was arrested and is now facing numerous charges, including assault with weapon. Gladu has been remanded into custody.
