Manitoba Major Crime Services are reporting that a 53-year-old male suspect has been arrested and charged in connection to a recent fatal shooting incident that occurred near the community of Ebb and Flow First Nation.

On December 15, 2024, at approximately 7:45am, Ste. Rose RCMP responded to a report of a shooting that occurred on Highway 278. Officers and Emergency Medical Services immediately responded to the scene and located an injured 34-year-old male laying beside a truck near the Ebb and Flow First Nation Arena.

Police say that the victim was transported the Dauphin hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

RCMP report that a 53-year-old male suspect was identified in this incident. The man was later located at a residence in the community and subsequently arrested for murder without incident.

Members noted that the suspect remains in custody.
