A 29-year-old Dauphin woman is facing numerous drug related charges after RCMP discovered drugs in her car as the result of a recent traffic stop in the community.
On January 4, 2025, at approximately 1:15am, while on patrol, Dauphin RCMP officers initiated a traffic stop on Main Street in Dauphin. While the lone female driver was being asked to produce a license, the officer observed empty cans of alcohol in the vehicle.
Police say that the driver was asked to provide a breath sample, which she subsequently failed. The driver also was not able to produce a license.
Following a search of the vehicle, officers seized a number of illicit drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine, and various prescription medicine.
RCMP report that 29-year-old Angel Chartrand, of Dauphin, was arrested for impaired operation of a conveyance, possession of property obtained by crime and four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Chartrand also received several tickets under the Highway Traffic Act totaling over $1,400.
