The City of Steinbach is advising residents that a portion of Friesen Avenue, between Main Street and Elmdale Street, will be closed starting Monday.
Officials say that the closure is scheduled to start on Monday, April 7, and will be in effect until further notice. The closure is due to an extension of the sewer and water main lines on Friesen Avenue.
Drivers are advised that the left turning lane for southbound Main Street at Friesen Avenue will also be closed, and northbound traffic on Main Street will not be permitted to turn right at Friesen Avenue.
The City also noted that during the closure there will be a single access to 231 Main Street along Friesen Avenue, and no access to 243 or 247 Main Street along Elmdale Street.
Motorists are thanked in advance for exercising caution and following all posted signage in the area as work is completed.
