Michael Samdass, a 36-year-old Hamilton, Ontario man, is facing numerous drug-related charges after being stopped for speeding near Headingley, Manitoba.
On August 11, 2016, at approximately 1pm, Michael Samdass of Ontario was stopped for a speeding offence near Headingley. Police investigation revealed a small quantity of marijuana and stacks of cash in excess of $19,000 inside the vehicle. The cash and vehicle were both seized pursuant to the Criminal Code. Items seized are believed to have originated as the result of criminal activity.
The RCMP “D” Division Traffic Services Unit have charged Michael Samdass with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of a controlled substance.
“Our Traffic Service in Manitoba is committed to holding those who misuse our roadways accountable,” stated Inspector Ed Moreland, officer in charge of the Manitoba RCMP Traffic Services.
Police continue to investigate.
