On October 14, 2017, at approximately 9:50pm, Leaf Rapids RCMP were dispatched to a report of a deceased male on Anderson Road in South Indian Lake, Manitoba.
Police investigation revealed that a 46-year-old man had been walking along the road when he slipped on some ice, fell into the roadway and was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, a 64-year-old woman, reported the incident to police.
RCMP report that visibility was poor and road conditions were slippery after a snowfall in the area. Alcohol and speed are not considered factors in this incident. An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
