On November 26, at approximately 7:15pm, Steinbach RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 1, near Road 54 East in the RM of Reynolds.
Initial police investigation has determined that a semi truck was traveling west on Highway 1 when it struck a farm tractor which was also traveling in the same direction.
Police say that the two occupants of the tractor, a 51-year-old male from the RM of Reynolds and a 33-year-old female from the RM of Ste. Anne, were ejected from the vehicle onto the highway. The man was pronounced deceased on scene and the woman was transported to hospital in unstable condition with serious injuries. She remains in hospital in stable condition.
RCMP report that charges are pending against the driver of the semi, a 70-year-old Montreal, Quebec man. He was not injured in the collision.
