A mother and her three children were rescued from a residential property in Dauphin due to a fire spreading from an adjacent property.
On September 11, 2016, at 3:25am, RCMP were dispatched to a shed on fire behind a commercial property in Dauphin, Manitoba. Officers arrived on scene within minutes and noted that the fire was quickly spreading to a residence adjacent to the property. Two officers banged on the windows and doors, but nobody answered. They then entered the property, woke a mother and three children and evacuated them to safety.
Police say that local fire crews responded and were able to put out the blaze. Investigation has shown the fire to be the result of arson.
RCMP report that there were no injuries in this incident and that the investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Office of the Fire Commissioner.
