As a result of three recent residential searches in Thompson, RCMP were able to seize a substantial quantity of drugs, paraphernalia and cash.
On June 1, 2018, Thompson RCMP executed search warrants under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at three residences within the city.
At one residence, located on Beaver Crescent, police located and seized approximately 57 grams of cocaine, a large sum of Canadian currency and various drug paraphernalia. As a result, police arrested a 38-year-old female and a 28-year-old male, both from Thompson, at the scene.
Two more search warrants were executed at two apartments on Carlton Place. Seized in this search was approximately 95 grams of cocaine, 84 grams of marijuana, large sums of Canadian currency, various drug paraphernalia and a bag of weapons which included brass knuckles, a baton, a taser. As a result, police arrested a 31-year-old male, an 18-year-old male, and a 16-year-old female, all from Thompson.
RCMP report that four of the five accused have been released from custody and will be appearing in Provincial Court in Thompson. The 31-year-old male was remanded into custody. All will face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and other Criminal Code charges.
