A 36-year-old RM of Tache man has recently died after his ATV rolled and landed on top of him.
On Saturday, September 1, at approximately 11:30pm, Steinbach RCMP responded to a report of an off-road vehicle rollover. Initial police investigation has determined that a 36-year-old RM of Tache man, along with an 8-year-old child, also from the RM of Tache, was in a side-by-side off-road vehicle when it rolled – landing atop the adult male.
Police say that the 36-year-old man was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The 8-year-old child was not injured in the incident. It is not believed that either the adult or child was wearing a helmet or seatbelt at the time of the incident.
RCMP report that alcohol is believed to be a factor in this fatality and that the investigation is on-going.
