A 17-year-old Oxford House male youth has died after being struck by a vehicle at a location in the community.
On September 4, 2018, at approximately 11:30pm, officers from the Oxford House RCMP Detachment received a report of a vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred on the Main Road in the community.
Officers determined that a vehicle, being driven by a 16-year-old female from Oxford House, struck a 17-year-old male, also from Oxford House. It is believed the male was lying on the road at the time of the collision. The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and immediately contacted police. The 17-year-old was transported to the nursing station where he was later pronounced deceased.
RCMP report that alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors in the collision. Anyone that may have information on this collision is asked to contact the Oxford House Detachment at 204-538-2046.
