Steinbach RCMP are currently investigating the recent discovery of human remains at a location in the north east area of the RM of Taché.
On October 27, 2018, at approximately 7pm, Steinbach RCMP received a report of possible human remains discovered in the RM of Taché. Police say that a male was hunting in the area and found what he thought to be a human skull.
RCMP officers, along with specialists from the Forensic Identification Unit, attended the scene and it was confirmed that it was human remains. At this time, it is believed the remains have been there for an extended period of time but the exact time frame is unknown.
An investigation to identify the remains is ongoing with assistance from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
