Selkirk RCMP have made three arrests in connection to an ongoing investigation stemming from violent threats made on social media.
On December 2, 2018, at 6:40pm, Selkirk RCMP received a report of a social media post where an 18-year-old male had made multiple violent threats.
Officers identified and located the suspect who was subsequently arrested for uttering threats. RCMP report that the suspect, an 18-year-old male from Selkirk, is currently in police custody with charges pending.
Police say that the investigation identified two more suspects who were quickly located. As a result, an 18-year-old female and 16-year-old male, both from Selkirk, were arrested for uttering threats. Both remain in police custody.
Selkirk RCMP note that they are not looking for any other suspects and the investigation is ongoing.
Update
Selkirk RCMP have charged 18-year-old Kingsley Brett Williams with two counts of uttering threats and one count of failing to comply with an undertaking in regards to online threats made December 2, 2018. The 16-year-old male youth has been charged with one count of uttering threats. The 18-year-old female will not face any charges.
