A 36-year-old male was recently taken to hospital, suffering from stab wounds, after being robbed and assaulted at his residence located in Gilbert Plains, Manitoba.
On February 12, 2019, at approximately 11:15pm, Dauphin RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence located in Gilbert Plains. Police investigation determined that two male suspects knocked on the front door of a local residence. When the victim answered the door, he was assaulted and stabbed in the upper body. The suspects then grabbed a small amount of cannabis from a table inside the residence and fled in a vehicle.
Officers located the vehicle parked roadside on Highway 5, west of Grandview. After a brief altercation, both suspects were arrested.
RCMP report that 21-year-old Roger Keshane of Gilbert Plains has been charged with numerous offences including committing an aggravated assault and robbery with a weapon. Also charged in this incident is a 17-year-old male from Gilbert Plains.
Police noted that the victim, a 36-year-old male, was taken to hospital and is currently in stable condition. The suspects and victim were known to each other and there was never concern for public safety.
