A 35-year-old Roblin, Manitoba man has died as the result of a snowmobile collision that occurred near Assessippi Ski Hill.

On March 2, 2019, at approximately 11pm, Russell RCMP responded to a report of a snowmobile collision that occurred on a groomed snowmobile trail northwest of Assessippi Ski Hill in the RM of Riding Mountain West, approximately 8 kilometres northwest of Inglis, Manitoba.

Police say that a 35-year-old Roblin man was traveling on the trail when he failed to negotiate a turn and collided with thick brush. The rider was pronounced deceased on scene.

RCMP report that the deceased was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Alcohol and speed are believed to be a factors in this incident.
